What we miss, dismiss, and underestimate may be shaping everything.
We live in a world obsessed with “more.”
More productivity.
More speed.
More success.
But sometimes it’s not the more that matters—it’s the biggest.
The biggest distraction.
The biggest waste.
The biggest missed opportunity.
Here are a few that have been on my mind lately. Maybe one of them will stir something in you.
- The biggest distraction: Comfort. Our phones. The illusion of busyness.
- The biggest waste: A life that never uncovers its deeper purpose.
- The biggest mistake: Undervaluing people—especially the ones right in front of us.
- The biggest blindspot: Assuming others see the world the way we do.
- The biggest delay: Realizing too late that the ladder we’ve climbed is leaning against the wrong wall.
- The biggest missed opportunity: Using our time, talents, or treasure only for ourselves.
- The biggest shame: Letting power, politics, or pride pit us against each other.
- The biggest energy drain: Trying to control what was never ours to carry.
- The biggest lie: “I’ll get to it later.”
- The biggest leadership myth: That authority equals influence.
- The biggest regret: Trading authenticity for approval.
- The biggest barrier to growth: Believing we’ve already arrived.
- The biggest silence: Not speaking truth when it matters most.
- The biggest risk: Living safely and dying with potential still inside.
- The biggest limiter: Thinking small when you were made to lead large.
Some of these come from my own journey. Others, I’ve witnessed in the lives of the incredible leaders and teams I work with every week. Each one is a mirror and an invitation.
So here’s your moment of reflection:
Which one hit home for you—and why?
What would you add to this list?
Let’s open the conversation. Someone may need to see your answer more than you know.
